Mirza & Uzma (14th September 2009)


I was laid of from work and had little to do so I started browsing matrimonial sites. I found Uzma's profile and felt it was too good to be true and for a while I let it sit. But it kept biting me from inside so I had to try getting in touch with her. I set up another well-written profile to represent me properly and honestly, took some latest pics for the site and paid the membership to join Shaadi.com.

I expressed interest in Uzma's profile with the short message, in the best of my words. Two days later I got her reply that 'my profile is interesting as well, if it is all true'. From there on it was a matter of getting to know each other. Both our families were involved in this process as we both are from traditional families. All of us exchanged a lot of phone calls and emails for a couple of months. Around this time a friend of mine was in Pakistan, I had him visit her family, he also gave a favorable opinion of her's.

We had an informal engagement over the phone followed by a trip to Pakistan where we got married on the 3rd day of getting there. This recession in Canadian economy was a blessing for me, because losing my job gave me the time to find my wife, go to Pakistan to get married and spend time with her without any worry. That is something I would otherwise never have been able to do so easily.

And Thanks to Shaadi.com for providing this portal to meet my wife, finding the right person here makes its membership fee worth more than every penny.
