Hey Shaadi Team!
INDIE says: It all began on the 10th June, when I finally decided to contact Anoop. His profile kept on appearing on e-matchmaker from day 1 but I was not keen on his picture. Then with 9 weeks left in London and a few unsuccessful dates I decided to contact Anoop. I did not have much faith in this process but still gave it one last go.
We spoke 2-3 times on the phone and things seemed perfect. Then, with 6 weeks left in London we decided to meet up, though I did not have high hopes.
Anoop turned up at my doorstep on the 3rd July with a bunch of pink roses. He was nothing like his picture, how his eyes made me feel 'WOW'. That was it.
ANOOP says: I was beginning to give up on Shaadi.com, not much success with the people I had met. Selling myself over the Internet is not easy. Then this girl, Indie28 contacted me and I thought why not, her profile seems ok and she didnt look too bad.
I took her roses when I went to see her for the first time, hey, thats just me. I was quite looking forward to meeting her, eventhough it was after only 2 phonecalls. I fancied Indie as soon as I saw her, again her picture did not do her any justice at all. We headed to a pub, and things just clicked. I could not believe how time just flew. I asked her out the following day and then knew I was in love 6 days later. I know, a typical Indian film - thats what we say to each other now.
INDIE and ANOOP say: It happens when you least expect it. People talk about the 'click' which you cannot explain to anyone let alone yourself. It is not about things being perfect, actually we cannot explain.
Indie met my parents 3 weeks and then a week later I went to Cornwall to met her parents. For some people cast is a big issue, in fact many people via Shaadi.com refused to speak because of caste; it was not a barrier between us. 8 weeks later and both sets of parents met and everything was set and approved. We are now to be married on August 1st 2004. The parents clicked as well.
Shaadi.com brought us together, so a massive thank you goes to you. We both wish everyone out there still looking for that perfect ingrediant good luck and remember these bits of advice - dont give up, dont put pressure on yourself, also take things easy, this is another avenue to meet people. We have.
It happened to us, we did not expect it so have faith in yourself.
