I am Sapana Premi (apana202002), I contacted Padmakar Kanitkar(paddy71) on telephone and we decided to meet each other not in my place or his place but at an equi-distance venue. We met at one of the busiest places in Mumbai, Dadar. I am from Manpada, Thane and he is from Vasai. We met at his friend's home in Dadar
It was a thrilling moment for both of us. We both were a little nervous. We met at one of the Dadar stations platform and went to his friend place. I liked him in first sight and he almost proposed me in that very first visit. Within a week, I told my family members about the same proposal. They agreed to go to Vasai for a meeting. After some small formalities, our marriage was fixed. We are still busy in the other things like printing of invitation cards,shopping etc.....
We have selected each other as a life member, though the marraige date has to be fixed, yet. However during that time, my fiancee was a bit tensed as his father was serious. We were in touch every day. We got to know each other better by talking on telephone for 3 to 4 hours every day.
One fine day, as usual I thought he would contact me on 28th march, but things got worse. His father got more serious and was expected to die soon. We decided to marry in his father's presence. My fiancee suggested to his father about 2nd April, 03 as a preferred date for the marraige. Being gudhi padawa - new year day for hindus, it was an auspicious day !. It was difficult for his father to continue for 4 to 5 days, so he suggested that we marry on first available "muhurat" which according to me was 29th March, 03, which happen to be the very next day. It was a very difficult decision for me also .I contacted my relatives in Pune and took the advice of my elders. We decided to marry on next day immediately.
Due to the situation, only few members were available hardly 5 from each side and we got married in vasai in Shree Shankaracharyaji Mandir in Nirmal at 3.30 p.m. on 29th March 2003. My fiancee arranged all the things in few hours. We were married within 15 hours, almost. We registered our marriage on 7th April, 03. His father passed away on 8th April, 03. Happiness and sadness, we experienced it all together.
One would say we could not enjoy the Best period of our life because of the demise of a dear one, but the truth is, it was our happiest period, which helped us in baring this demise. It was possible because both the parties were very understanding in nature. I adjusted myself in few days and now almost after 5 weeks of my marriege, I must say our decision was right and now we are living happily ! We are going to arrange our honeymoon in October We will be going to nepal !
