Archna & Dheeraj (28 March 2010) Archna and I met on Shaadi.com in April, 2007 when I was a cynical veteran of online dating and Archna had decided to try it for the first time. A couple of e-mail exchanges, and we both suspected that there just might be something here. E-mail turned into phone calls, and phone calls turned into meeting in person. After I managed to persuade Archna that ABCDs like me weren't entirely hopeless, we had a roka ceremony later that year, an engagement in April, 2008, and got married in November, 2008. We've now been married over a year, and are happier than ever. For anyone reading this who's on the fence, I can say without reservation that none of the preconceived notions or stereotypes you might have about meeting someone online are true -- at least if you have a little faith and take the risk. It was more than worth it for us.
