When "JohnDoe_USA" met "Diva1976" in December 2005, an unbelievable love story began. Here it is: Mohit messaged me on in late October 2005. It wasn?t until November 7th, 2005 (my father?s birthday) when I decided to finally take some action and respond to Mohit?s profile. It wasn?t his picture at first that captured my interest ? it was his profile that was so eloquently written and mentioned several things that gave me a little insight into who he is. He liked to read (which I don?t quite find the time to do), he liked Action flicks and weird comedies (where I like the romantic drama type), he liked doing projects (where I loved redecorating), and most importantly ? he was a good friend to those around him (which simply made me smile). After a few emails back and forth, I finally decided to give him my phone number. I?m originally from Toronto (Canada) and was doing my M.A. in Montreal. He was born in India and had migrated to California, and was operating a successful business in Mississippi. It was nuts! Anyhow, he finally called me on December 2nd, 2005. It was a great 2 hour conversation. The following 9 days were absolutely incredible. We spoke on the phone for hours upon hours. In fact, one weekend, we spoke from Friday 8pm till Monday morning 7am?we spent the entire weekend on the phone. It was surreal. Mohit had a webcam which he set up so that I could see him while we spoke. Unfortunately I didn?t have one so he spoke to me on the phone and simple looked through several photographs I had sent him. On December 11th, 2005 Mohit called me after work and said to me??I love you!?. I felt the same way and it was that night when we decided that we had fallen in love, had truly found our soul mate and wanted to get married. We decided it was time to meet each other?s family. Mohit came to visit me in Toronto later that December. We spent 2 days together, just enjoying being together (in person!). I called my parents and 2 of my best girlfriends and invited them to meet me for dinner. I introduced them to Mohit that night and everyone loved him?even my Dad! He pulled my Dad aside at the end of the night and expressed his love and interest to marry me. My Dad gave him a hug and said, ?Son, it?s in your hands.?. When everyone left the restaurant, Mohit and I shared some tears of happiness. It was beautiful night. In January 2006, my parents and I travelled to the USA to meet his parents in Mississippi. It was a very interesting few days as the parents shared their thoughts on our whirlwind of a romance. On the last day of our visit, we had our roka ceremony. In February 2006, I visited California to meet his brother, bhabhi, niece and nephew. It was also my birthday and Mohit surprised me with a trip to Napa and tickets to the Teatro ZinZanni. In April 2006, Mohit came to visit me in Montreal and we celebrated his birthday in Toronto with my friends and family. That night, when he was opening all of his birthday presents, he surprised me with a stunning engagement ring. Everyone was in awe and you could totally feel the abundance of love as it filled the room! On June 23rd, 2006, we had a civil marriage on the beach in San Diego. We did this in order to start the immigration paperwork so that I could work as soon as we celebrated our Hindu marriage with family and friends the following year. On June 23rd, 2007 ? 400 friends and family from the USA, Canada and India joined us in Toronto for our beautiful outdoor wedding. Mohit started his MBA soon after at Duke in North Carolina, and I am pursuing my PhD at McGill in Montreal. We are enjoying this exciting time, together, as best friends and husband and wife. When we share our story, we feel as though we restore the hope and faith in love that many of lost. Our story is a true testimony of how incredible the journey of love is, how it will find you when you least expect it, and how is a blessing to those of us who have our soul mates waiting over borders and seas!

Wedding DATE : 23rd Jun, 2007
Ramona & Mohit Team congratulates Ramona & Mohit. We wish you both a happy future.
