It starts with the ordinary thing, a man sees a profile, gives his interest and the girl replies her interest back. However, I (Sahil) was in the United States and she (Priya) was in India. When I came to visit India in mid-June, my parents wanted me to meet several girls, having no idea that I will come to India as a single guy, but leave as an engaged man. First, I Ahmadabad id not even think it was going to be possible for me to meet Priya in person, because I was in and she was in Indore. The first time we tried to call them over to Ahmadabad by train, but faith stood in the way. One the night of July 8th, Priya\\\'s dad called and said that she would be able to make on the 9th morning. When Priya\\\'s family came to the Ahmadabad home, I only noticed that she was always smiling. When I asked Priya if we could go to the back room to talk a little more, little did we know that we would talk for over three hours. That is when the parents knew that there was something going on between us. My parents decided to extend the stay by calling Priya and her family for lunch. There, Priya and I continued to talk (of just about everything you can think of). When we reached back to the home, the parents knew that we should get engaged right there, right now. By early in the evening, around 6:00 pm, Priya and I got engaged and it was the greatest feeling in the world to me.

Soon after, we applied for the Fiance visa and almost 10 months later Priya got her visa and came to the United States. We immediately got married and now plan to have our reception in the later summer or early fall.

It is truly very special to share our story with Shaadi.com. This is the reason we took our sweet time to put it together. We are soon approaching our first wedding anniversary, which we will celebrate in Venice, Italy.

We first 'met' in July 2007 via Shaadi.com website, which by all stretches of imagination was nothing short of a miracle. Never had either of us imagined that our soulmate would be waiting for us at the other end of the globe. By a sheer chance I sent an invite, which by an even bigger sheer chance Sree accepted. We were still thousands of miles apart, and neither of us thought that this was the little drop which will make our lives blossom.

When we met in person for the first time a month later, it was a start of a lovely friendship. We both understood the value of friendship in a relationship, and of mutual respect and trust. What followed was months of long-chats, sharing of thoughts, interests and dreams. We both love nature, we enjoy long trips, so we went on several trips around the world, which was indeed a very bonding experience. And before we knew it, we were in love, and rest is history.

We got married in June 2008 in a lovely ceremony attended by our nearest and dearest. With each passing day since, on one hand we have felt a deep sense of sadness for the long time it took for us to meet each other, on the other we are grateful to the Almighty for letting us finally
meet.
