PER MY PARENTS' REQUEST: The girl must not be a manglik.
People closest to me would describe me as someone who is both humble and modest, yet has a strong sense of dignity. I have strong family and cultural values, and consider myself to be quite Indian in my thinking. I am both diplomatic and very respectful of others' views and opinions, but if the need comes, I will stand up for what I believe to be just or logical for whomever or whatever it might be even if no one else is with me. I would never change my beliefs or the way I am just to fit in with the majority, nor am I one to follow dogma blindly.
I am known to be a hard worker who never gives up even at the toughest of times. I am also considered by others as fun, confident, honest, outgoing, easy-going, savvy with finances, having a good sense of humor, somehow always finding adventure in even the worst of situations, and yet still always remaining true to myself.
Although I claim not to be religious, I do still believe in the core Hindu philosophy, and if and when required, I will participate in the occasional ritual worship only out of respect for my mother. I believe in monism, dharma, artha, kama, and moksha, but this is as far as I honestly take it.
I was born in London and moved to the U. S. in 95', however I have completely lost all traces of the UK accent.
In addition to both living and working as a Software Engineer on a government project in Northern Virginia, I am also currently pursuing my masters degree part-time in Computer Science. My undergraduate education was in Accounting and Economics and I formerly worked as a systems implementation consultant for ERP software at the functional level, where I was involved in implementing the financial and cost accounting modules. I later acquired a deep interest in programming and web development, began my masters program, and made a career change.
I seek a fun, caring, responsible, and simple girl, as well as a best friend who is always there standing strong no matter what circumstances life puts on the table. Someone who has passion behind her ambitions, appreciation for her roots and culture, as well as silliness and a good sense of humor are all major pluses! She must also like to dance, have an adjusting nature, and treat and respect my family as her own. I would expect her to wish the same from me.
Both my parents were born in Nairobi and now live in Maryland.
My father attended boarding school in Shimla from age 5 to High School. He completed his undergraduate education in the UK and holds both a CA (British equivalent of the CPA) as well as an MBA from a top ranking Canadian business school. He worked in the London financial district in internal audit and controllership roles on the bond trading floors of various large banks, before quitting his job and moving to the U.S. to work for himself as a full-time active equities trader.
My mother is a qualified hairdresser and cosmetologist, however worked only for a few years before joining my father as a full-time equities trader as well.
My sister is three years elder to me and unmarried. She completed her Masters in Journalism in the UK and worked as a business news journalist in London and Hong Kong two years before she decided to move to Delhi to work with a start-up opportunity.
