I am half Shia-half Sunni by birth, thus if sect is of importance to you or your family please ignore my profile. Also, only interests from people residing in the USA will be appreciated, since I am based here.
I grew up in India and moved to the US 6 years ago for graduate school. I live in San Diego, CA and work as an IC Design Engineer. Having accomplished certain personal goals, I am now excited about finding a partner to share the joys (and disasters) of my life with and foray into the next phase of life. By the way, this method of finding love makes the romantic inside me cringe, but turns out this may be a good shot at finding my 'wavelength' match (better than my aunt's neighbor's maid suggesting a boy, don't you think?).
My friends would describe me as a confident and grounded, equally left and right brained woman. I am linear, analytical, ambitious and realistic; yet I am creative, vivid, imaginative... more and impulsive. I have equal affection for both technology and shoes. I own books on both mathematics and makeup. I abhor hypocrisy and admire honesty. I have a wanderlust and want to lead a diverse and fulfilling life. As for the more tangible aspects of my being, I love music (the full spectrum - from Classic Rock to Country), reading, theater, travelling (especially road trips off the beaten path), cooking, beaches, sunsets and cars, amongst other things.
Although I grew up in India, I am pretty liberal in thought. I hold the 'Golden Rule' and humanity in high regard. I believe religion should be a personal guide, and not a yardstick to judge others by.
About my family:
My parents are based in Uttar Pradesh, India. I have an elder brother and two elder sisters, myself being the youngest. Our parents raised us with great emphasis on education, self-worth, family and faith. We are a global family (living across 4 different continents) which is deeply connected across time zones.
About my prospective partner:
Does anyone know with absolute certainty all that they want in a life partner? It's not like I'm shopping for a car (to be honest that was a mighty tough decision as well!). There isn't a checklist that I am looking for - I just know it will organically feel right if it is meant to be. At the least, my ideal partner would be intellectual, unfeigned, honest and passionate about both his work and family. If he is infested by the travel bug, is fluent in English and can make me laugh - he's half way there!
I am looking for a bond where we push each other to explore and evolve into the best versions of ourselves. If you feel like you and I could share our wisdom and quirks and grow together, as individuals and as one, drop in a line.
