1. I am half Shia-half Sunni by birth, so if sect will be an issue for you/your family please ignore my profile.
2. My preferred partner location is USA, and this is important to me since I am based here.
I grew up in India and first came to the United States 5 years ago to pursue a master's degree in electrical engineering. Today, I live in San Diego, California and love my job as an IC Design Engineer in a semiconductor company. I have been getting reprimanded by friends and family alike for not starting the 'husband search' for a while now, but I did not want to get married just to conform to the norms of the society. I want to find a friend and partner to share the joys (and disasters) of my life with - whether it be everyday mundane activities or a camping trip to Alaska. Today, I feel ready to find that person, so here I am setting up a profile on a matrimonial site. By the way, this method of finding love makes the romantic inside me cringe, but turns out this may be the best shot at finding my 'wavelength' match (better than my aunt's neighbor's maid suggesting a boy, don't you think?).
This is the most difficult description in the world, of oneself. Not only does one risk sounding either confused or pompous, but how can one correctly relay how he/she comes across to others? So, to really know me you'll have to talk to my friends! But, for now I shall try. I consider myself equally left and right brained. I am linear, analytical, strategic, practical and realistic; yet I am creative, vivid, imaginative and impulsive. I love the familiar, yet I am a free spirit. I have equal affection for both technology and shoes. I own books on both mathematics and makeup. I am a nerd, who can also watch QVC non-stop to stay updated on handbag trends. I am a girl who dislikes pink and loves Mustangs (I find pink Mustangs to be the worst torture an automobile can ever be subject to). All of this can come across as a contradiction, as it does to most of the world, but to me this is balance and harmony. I love my family greatly, and I also love my profession. I value both religion and humanity. I abhor hypocrisy and admire honesty. As for the more tangible aspects of my being, I love music (classic rock, country, pop, hindi, gazals, etc. etc.), books, travelling (especially road trips off the beaten path, national parks), cooking, beaches, sunsets and cars, amongst other things.
About my family:
Both my parents are established doctors and run their own medical practice in Agra, India. I have an elder brother and two elder sisters, myself being the youngest. My parents raised us with great emphasis on education, self-worth, family and faith. My parents were born in India, and lived in UK, Africa and Saudi Arabia before finally settling down in India. Two of my siblings live in the UK, and one in India. It is probably an understatement to say we are a 'close-knit' family; we love each other to bits. It suffices to say we are a global family which is deeply connected across time zones - I mean the multiple calls a week, video chat every weekend, holiday together kind of connected.
About my prospective partner:
I was wrong before, this is the toughest description. Does anyone know with absolute certainty all that they want in a life partner? It's not like I'm shopping for a car (to be honest that was a mighty tough decision as well!). Well, if you have survived this long narrative about me and my family, you must have come to the realization that I am one of those simple-yet-complex individuals who do not find their kind very often. If you feel like you and I could share our wisdom and quirks and grow together, as individuals and as one, drop in a line. Oh I forgot, you must also possess the essential qualities of intellect, humor, kindness and respect for women, among other things.
I don't quite know how this matrimonial thing will pan out; this is a venture into uncharted waters. My mantra to keep me afloat in this search - never settle, the love of your life is out there. I look forward to this journey and Inshallah with the blessing of my family and Allah, it will all be worth it.
