"Tell me something about yourself" is one of the most easiest questions to ask, yet the most difficult to answer. Even though you know yourself much more than anyone else, self-description is not easy. Let me give it a try here.
I was born and raised in Mumbai, and just like anyone else, I'm also a proud Mumbaikar. I came to the United States in 2009 to pursue Masters in Computer Science. This experience of staying away from home has certainly helped me a lot to grow as an individual and has made me self-dependent. I still possess Indian values and follow Indian culture and traditions. After having lived in both, India and the US, I am very well a mixture of both cultures - not too liberal like the West and not too traditional like the East. As much as career is important to me, family and friends also hold equal priority in my life. I love to dream, and I strongly believe that our dreams and vision is what keeps us motivated to do better in life.
Music is one of the most essential things in my life. Just like one cannot live without air, I cannot live without music, precisely singing. Its my passion. I record my vocal covers when I have free time and post them on social media.
Since last year, I have also gained interest in fitness and nutrition. I was never really interested in it before, but I feel that our likes and dislikes keep evolving with time. I am not yet that much of a fanatic in this area, but I exercise at least twice a week. I also started running last year, and this year I participated in two 5k runs. I plan to train and run more next year again.
I love to travel and explore new places. I'm a huge fan of New York City since I can relate its fast-paced and happening life to Mumbai. I've been to NYC several times, and each time I fall a little more in love with the city.
Behaviorally, I am quite polite, honest, humble, soft-spoken and respectful of others. People who demean others are a major turn off for me. I believe that empathy and compassion are necessary qualities as human beings.
On the professional side, I work as a Software Developer in a private company in Rochester,NY. I've always enjoyed Math since school and so, Computer Science was certainly an interesting stream.
I am looking forward to the next phase of life. Life is a journey, and it will be great to have an interesting companion. I would like to have a life partner who is sensible, polite, educated and friendly. I prefer to have a working partner because I believe that life is much better when both are working. A compatible match would be someone who may not necessarily have similar views as mine, but knows how to live happily and responsibly, and most importantly, someone who loves, respects and whenever necessary, prioritizes family, too. I am looking for someone who is currently studying or working in US.
