    • My daughter attended a private university and received her B.A. in 2008 (she was pre-med). She then received her Master in Public Health degree (MPH) from the same university in 2010. She plans to further her education by pursuing her MD or DDS in the near future. In the meantime, she is focusing her career on health policy and management.

      As far as lifestyle, she is independent while still maintaining strong ties to our family. She is extremely close to her older brother and sister. My daughter is also traditional in the sense that she has strong religious and family values, but she maintains a modern perspective regarding her lifestyle and career. She hopes to maintain a balance between her career and personal life while following the values that her father and I raised her with. I would like to find someone for her that is kind, ambitious, family-oriented, religious, and humorous. Sharing common cultural values is not as important to her since she was raised Hindu in the American South (she had a diverse childhood). However, sharing religious views is vital and her future partner must also be Brahmin. It was important to her father and, therefore, is important to us/her.

      My husband and I were both born and raised in Kolkata and came to the United States in the mid 1970s. We soon moved to TN and began our family here. All three of our children were raised speaking both English and Bengali. They all learned Spanish while in school. Even though they were born and raised in a small rural town, they were also raised to have strong family values and observe our religious practices. My children basically follow a modern American lifestyle while maintaining traditional Hindu values.

      My husband passed away in 2003, and it has been the four of us (myself and my three children) ever since. My son and I now run the businesses that were started by my late husband, but my daughters also help whenever they are home from their academic/professional endeavors. We are a tight-knit family, especially after my husband's demise, and my children are extremely close to one another. My daughter needs to be with someone who respects how important her family is to her.

      Her other interests include: soccer (watching, playing, and coaching), tennis, concerts/music festivals, traveling, scuba diving, museums, dogs, cooking (mostly non-Indian food), hiking, and much more that she can tell you about herself.

    • My daughter expects to be with someone who enjoys travelling just as much as she does. Our family has enjoyed travelling since my daughter was a child, so she needs to be with someone who is constantly curious about the world and enjoys experiencing new things.
