    • OUR DAUGHTER'S UPBRINGING

      Our only daughter was born in Saudi Arabia where I had worked for a few years before returning to England. She did her primary schooling in England, eventually completing her 'O' & 'A' Levels at the Calcutta International School, Kolkata, India. She then joined Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka, India where she completed her MBBS degree.

      Recently she has graduated from the prestigious University of Bristol, UK with a MSc in Stem Cells and Regeneration. She would like to pursue a career that involves both the practice of clinical medicine as well as research in the United States of America. She is also preparing to take the USMLE exams this year. She is interested in doing a PhD in Clinical Neurosciences as well as practicing Pediatrics.


      Our daughter is very cosmopolitan in her outlook and has traveled widely with us. She speaks English, French, Bengali, Hindi and Kannada. She has played the piano under the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (London), receiving distinctions and merits till Grade 6. She has also trained in western classical/opera singing. As a child she was fond of and trained briefly in Bharatnatyam and Rabindra Sangeet. She also plays tennis and loves to swim.

      Our daughter is cheerful, courteous and deeply values mutual understanding, honesty and respect. She has been brought up with the perfect blend of eastern traditional values and western moderate liberal views.



      PARTNER PREFERENCE

      We are looking for a suitable professional (a doctor/engineer) groom for our daughter. He should be healthy and come from a cultured, educated, affluent family, residing in the United States of America with roots in Kolkata, India. He should be well settled and stable both in his professional and family life. He must be brought up with both modern and traditional views. We are a mixed family of Sadgope, Kayastha and Brahmins.

      ABOUT HER FAMILY

      I am a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist (FRCOG) at Peerless Hospital, Kolkata. My wife is an anaesthetist and we have both worked with the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK for several years before returning to Kolkata where we have our own practice and residence in Salt Lake City, Kolkata.

      My family hails from Midnapore district and they are all well settled and hold respectable posts, mainly in science and engineering, both in India and the United States of America.

      My wife's father was a judge and her whole family consists of doctors, engineers and lawyers, worth 3 generation settled in India and United States of America.
