      ABOUT ME:

      As a young woman of the new generation from Bangladesh, I believe in balance, and pride myself on being a good balance between traditional values of the East & progressive ideologies of the West, thanks to the upbringing of my wonderful parents...who have always been conservative, yet encouraged me to pursue my educational & career ambitions.

      I completed my graduation and Masters from London, UK...where I lived for 5 years, with my brother. Later, I came back to Bangladesh and had been working for 4 years, in a globally respected organization, as a Marketing Communications professional. I'm currently pursuing a Professional Certificate course at an NY university, and exploring my future options.

      While my family holds progressive values, the core Muslim values are deep-rooted in our way of living...which includes eating only Halal. As a modern-day professional woman who loves her family/friends, work & pastimes...I try to maintain a balanced lifestyle.

      My elders adore me as one of their most humble grand-daughter/niece...My friends say that, I am thoughtful, loving & humorous...My co-workers have said that, I am dependable, down-to-earth & witty! I love sightseeing/travelling, I've got a knack for writing, I like cooking for friends & family, and I enjoy movies. I cherish spending quality family time at home, as much as I enjoy going out & about. I believe, the fun lies in the company of loved ones, more than the activity itself.

      I believe in having a vision/ambition for the future (professionally & personally), and upholding certain values (religious, cultural & moral), while living each day to the fullest.

      MY PARTNER:

      I am a great believer in compatibility...i.e. being on the similar wavelength, which is essential to figure out, before proceeding into a commitment as sacred as marriage. I am hoping to find an educated, professional, family-oriented person: a Bangladeshi living in USA...who hasn't forgotten his roots. My ideal life partner would value mutual respect & loyalty very highly, and would be understanding enough to know that, a successful marriage requires nurturing, from both sides. He would share similar values as myself, combined with ambitions for the future...Someone who is ready to build a life with a sweet, yet humbly strong woman.       ABOUT MY FAMILY:

      We have a close-knit, small family of 4, with traditional, yet progressive values...living the balanced lifestyle of a modern-day Muslim family. In my extended family, my paternal uncles are businessmen in Bangladesh, and my maternal uncle & aunts are mostly professionals well-settled in the US, for 30+ yrs. My dad did his MBA in the early 1970s, and later established his own business. He is also the editor of a daily newspaper. My mom had been a teacher for 14 years.

      Growing up, I have been fortunate to enjoy travelling the world with my family. When I was living in the UK (with my brother) during studying, our parents stayed with us often...and I also visited Bangladesh every Summer. Couple of years ago, my family became US Permanent Residents. Later, my parents applied for my US immigration. My brother is working in NY, as a manager in a top-tier financial services company .

      We have our own humble condo-apartment in NY. As my family & most close relatives are based in the US, it is where I hope to settle down...of course, always being close to Bangladesh.
