Hello! My name is Alpana. I am a teacher by profession and absolutely love my job! I currently work for a private school in Maryland. Two years ago, I received my Master of Arts in Teaching, as well as taught 8th, 9th, and 10th grade. Last summer I had the invaluable opportunity to teach for a gifted and talented program at Duke University. In my spare time, I love to read (anything and everything!), and watch my favorite TV shows: The Office, Seinfeld, Colbert Report, Daily Show. I also love to hang out with my brother, sister, and friends whenever I can! I hit the gym, at least a few times a week (summer is right around the corner, right?) I just signed up for my first 5k!
My family immigrated from Kenya, East Africa 15 years ago in order for my siblings and myself to be able to secure our futures. Despite this, we have held on to our Indian roots.

I only ask that you be open to communication! How can two people get to know each other if there is only one person doing all the communicating? It's funny to even put this on my profile, but you would be surprised how many people find communication to be difficult. How will that translate into a long term relationship? My family and I are very close. My dad operates a motel in Maryland and my mom helps him with this along with working at a learning center. My brother works for the Hershey Company and my sister is planning on attending graduate school.
