So who am I? Random fact- I was born in
Louisiana! Mamou, Louisiana to be exact. Six months later, (before I had a
chance to pick up a southern accent) I was West
Coast-bound. I've been living in Southern California for most of my
life, and I love it here! Can't beat the year-round perfect weather and
beautiful beaches. I went to UCLA for undergrad-Go Bruins! I lived
up in Northern Cali for a couple years when I going to Grad School in San Jose
for Occupational Therapy. OT is a pretty awesome field. There's nothing cooler
than helping people regain independence and be functional again after surgery,
stroke, etc. It's the little things we take for granted in this life and we
need to me more thankful to God for the things we are able to do.
Like many people, I love
hanging out with my friends and family, going to concerts, watching NBA games,
singing, etc etc etc. But honestly, nothing gives me greater joy and
consolation than going to Daily Mass and receiving/adoring Jesus in the Blessed
Sacrament. Nothing compares to that. I love the Catholic Faith- it's so incredibly
rich and beautiful. I enjoy getting into deep conversations with friends on
topics ranging from the faith, truth, philosophy, theology, and life in
general. I strive to know and do God's will, and to be in the world but not of
the world.
My goal in life is to get to Heaven--if
you want to help me get there, let's be friends. If after discernment, we feel
called to enter into a courtship, cool. If not, that's cool too-"Holy Indifference"
as my buddy St Ignatius of Loyola would say! Ultimately, I hope that the guy I
marry one day has the qualities of St Joseph- hardworking, spiritual/emotional
leader in the family, devoted to God, loyal, and trusting in God's will. I'm
not expecting the guy to be perfect or a saint, but one who realizes his
weaknesses, puts his strength in the Lord, and is striving to be a saint! Hey,
nothing is impossible with God right? Peace!
