Let me first tell a little about my side of the story. Education, constant learning, family, and career are of utmost importance to me. A quote by Albert Einstein can summarize my outlook on life "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning".
In terms of my education and career, I have a PhD in chemical engineering from university of Wisconsin-Madison USA, and now am working as a research engineer at Intel corp.in Portland, Oregon, USA. I have been extremely inclined to sciences from a very early age. After completing my 12th grade from Sainik School Purulia, West Bengal, I went to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, for my undergraduate in chemical engineering.
I was born and raised till the 5th grade in a small town called Biharsharif. It's a small town in the district of Nalanda (famous for the oldest university in the world) in the state of Bihar. My family is quite nuclear in nature, consisting of my parents, me and my four sisters (all younger than me). Although, we have lived as a nuclear family, plenty of close relatives also lived in the same area. Therefore, I have always felt in the close contact with and surrounded by a lot of family members. In general, our family is very close to the family from my mom's side. I have four aunts (mausiji) and two uncles (mamaji).
Coming back to my close family, my father is a school teacher with the state govt. of Bihar. My mother is a house keeper. She is a psychology major. The eldest sister has an MA in economics. The second sister has a diploma in electronics and communications engineering. The third sister is doing her bachelors in physics. The youngest sister (and the naughtiest one) is in the 12th grade and is preparing for the entrance exams of engineering colleges.
Although all of my family is very close to me, my mother is the dearest to me. She has been more of a friend than a mom all my life. Thanks to her, throughout my life, I have got independence for my own thinking and choices. She has always put faith and trust in my reasoning and decision making. She has given me unconditional love and patience. Being with her, I've learnt what it truly means to be part of a loving family. I do try my best to be the person she has always aspired of me.
I hope I have provided you with a good background of my family. I would be more than happy to share anything else you would like to know about them.
Away from my professional life, I love math puzzles, traveling, hiking, running and cooking. I have done a bit of traveling to several parts of India, Europe and USA. These days, I have been exploring the region around Oregon.
I am a big admirer of nature and I can go on an adventurous trip any day at any time. I am also, at least try my best to be, quite active. I run almost every morning and play badminton or tennis in the evening. Depending on the mood, I am as much an indoor person as I am an outdoor one. After coming to US, I have developed interest in cooking.
Well, that's some of the bits and pieces of me. It has already gone quite long, so hope you don't get bored before reaching the end of it. I would be more than happy to share anything else you would like to know from me
