Hey my name is Rose and I'm Canadian by birth. I'm 21 years old and I'm looking to meet someone of any age who enjoys life to the fullest and has a sense of humour to boast. I'm in University currently with the intention of studying medicine. I love to read and write and go for long walks. I love having a cup of coffee over a nice conversation. I love to travel and I love the water and the beach.
I believe in traditional values although I don't come from a very traditional family. I have one brother who is 2 years younger than me and he is studying in Canada to become a Commercial Pilot. My parents were married for 24 years before separating in February 2009. They are now divorced. My father lives in Canada with my brother and his family is in the restaurant and property business. My mother is a CFO of an Aviation company in California. She is a Finance professional and has worked/lived in Singapore, Canada, Brazil, and now just moved to the USA last year. I was born in Calgary, Alberta but my family moved to Singapore when I was 4 years old. I moved back to Canada when I was 13. Both my parents are born and raised in Singapore. My grandparents are born and raised in Punjab. My family is actually Khatri Sikh but I believe in and follow the Hindu religion. I'm hoping to meet someone who is Hindu but it's not a deciding factor for me. I love and believe in god and spirituality very much. I also have a 3 month old son who is named Aryan. He lives with me and his father is not involved. He is the most important thing in my life currently but I'm still looking for that special person to get to know and spend time with. I would love to start a friendship first and then see where it leads. Family and traditional values are very important to me as is honesty and integrety. My strongest traits are my caring and loving attitude. It is mainly why I have always aspired towards becoming a doctor. That and I love health and science lol. I took this summer off of school for my son but I'm returning to university in late September 2009. My major is Biology. I believe strongly in generosity and that giving and helping others is what truly makes the world go round :). On the side, I love to write. I have written a few short stories and a novel and if luck is on my side, it might be published soon. When I am free, I enjoy volunteering in hospitals, I also love to read and play with my son. Things I can do: Well I play the piano, I enjoy sports as well. I used to compete on a Swim team and I play Soccer and Field Hockey too. But my true passion lies in adventure sports and water activities like rock-climbing, horse-back riding and jet-skiing. I love camping as well. One of my dreams is still to visit and shop in New York City :) as I haven't had the chance to do so yet. I'm looking for someone with similar values as myself--our interests don't really have to be the same. I'm looking to accept another family as my own so it's equally important that my partner loves children and is not opposed to me already having a child. I love stimulating conversations and new ideas. My favourite are discussions on health issues and scientific research. I also love discussions on life in general. I'm an open-minded individual and I have a blend of traditional and modern thinking. One last thing; I absolutely love music and movies. But only Indian.. lol I love Ghazals the most but also film songs and most movies with Kajol in them. I start my day by listening to Bhajans as it gives me a positive outlook to begin the day and much added energy. My mother tongue is English but I studied Punjabi formally in Singapore for 6 years. I can read and write in Punjabi and also understand both Hindi and Punjabi quite well but I don't have much practice speaking as my family converses in English. To me, my family primarily consists of my mother, my son, and my mamaji (mother's brother). We are very close. Before my son was born, my mother was the most important person in the world to me and now well it's a close fight lol. She has always been there for me and I can't ask for a better mother. She has a bachelors in accounting and an MBA and she is a CFO in California. My mamaji lives in Warsaw, Poland and he is a partner in a computor business called NTT. He also owns 2 restaurants. My son's name is Aryan Aakash Loomba (our family name is Loomba) and he will be 3 months old in about 2 weeks. My nani and nana live in Singapore with my other mamaji and his family.
