"Be yourself, cause everyone else is already taken"
I wish this were me talking but I’d readily admit, Wilde is wittier, if only by a bit. Individuality is a very valuable thing, and I am proud of mine. After all, there cannot be more than one mad, fun, adventurous, sensitive, unique ME.
Dance like no one is watching. Party like there is no tomorrow. Belt out that tune. Burn those calories with vigor without a worry in the world about ALL that good food. It’s the little pleasures that make life richer for me.
I strongly believe that less is more and art illustrates this philosophy quite beautifully. Art has been an interest of mine since I was little. With the support of my parents, I pursued my Bachelors in Fine Arts and moved to the States to earn my B. F. A in Visual Communications. My various forays as a student in Chicago fueled my interest in the arts, exposed me to a diverse group of people and cultures, and helped me embrace my independence. Having said that, long before Chicago happened to me, I grew up in a cosmopolitan city in India and developed a strong, independent liberal outlook towards life.
I am my best friend and worst critic, but the opinions of my near and dear are important to me. I am an extrovert - I thrive at social gatherings and love to meet new people. This facet of my personality, combined with my confidence has always helped me adapt to unfamiliar surroundings, and put people at ease.
I wouldn’t have grown to become this woman had it not been for my wonderful family. My father's calm nature has been a stabilizing influence in my life. He is caring and protective, and is always there when I need a shoulder. My mom is the rope that holds us all together, and my parents share a bond that combines love, support and respect for one another. I would like to find the same equation with the person whom I decide to spend the rest of my life with. My brother looks out for me and has been my guide and adviser in every step of the way. He works in EarthLink and lives with his family in Atlanta. I have an elder sister who is my best friend and confidante. At present, she is a full time mom and lives in San Francisco with her family. I love my four adorable nieces and nephews whose personalities brighten our family.
All this talk of family and I’m sure you’re wondering where you fit in?
Let me give you a glimpse of what I’d appreciate in my partner - Someone who loves India as much as I do; someone who shares an upbringing that is similar to mine as it only makes sharing a life simpler; someone who is funny and fun to be around with; someone who can just be and let me be; someone who is confident enough to not make a spectacle of it; someone whose sense of focus matches my own so one day we can stand by each other’s side in our moment of achievement.
So if you’re that someone who loves dark chocolate, rich red wine, road trips and the thrill of a surprise, you know how to reach me.
