I have four children: 3 daughters and 1 son. Deepika is my middle daughter. Her elder sister is 29, a qualified GP recently emigrated to Australia, her younger sister is 24, and in her 6th year of med school at Imperial university in London, and her younger brother is 21 and 3rd year studying at Manchester med school. I am a primary school teacher. My husband sadly passed away 8 years ago and was a GP.
We are all in the UK. All our extended family live in India (AP). As a result, our nuclear family is very close. We laugh a lot, and all my children see the funny side of everything. You must be able to keep up with all the wit flying across the dinner table, and if you want to be heard you have to speak up! Our views are pretty liberal.
My children are really wonderful and have excellent family values. They embody all the modest Hindu cultural principles and propriety with the character that comes from being British. They are very much the product of the best of both cultures.
