Although I grew up in Seattle, Washington, I consider myself a Texan after living here for some years. I attended the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em) and then moved to Miami, Florida as an elementary school teacher with Teach for America. I remain actively involved in education and am currently enjoying life in Houston, Texas. This fall, I will begin my graduate studies as I work toward my MBA.
While work and personal development are important to me, I have also come to value balance. My personal relationships with family and friends are important, so I try to give them the time and attention they deserve. In my spare time I stay active by running, with Memorial Park being one of my favorite places. I also like to cook and try new recipes with my family and friends. I?m still working on both of these. On the weekends, I may check out a new restaurant, catch a movie, play trivia with friends, or watch college sports.
If there?s one thing I?d like to do more of, it?s traveling. Whether visiting cities like Chicago or New York or traveling internationally?three years ago I toured Spain and two years ago, India?I think it?s important to not only know what?s going on throughout the world, but to also see it firsthand. I?d like to explore more of Central and South America, especially so I can improve my Spanish.
I've had many meaningful personal experiences in my life, and I'm interested in finding someone with whom I can grow as we create our own unique life experiences together. I?m interested in a partnership that?s based on mutual respect, open-mindedness, and communication, and I?m looking for someone who values family, spirituality, career goals, health, and getting the most out of life.
I know this may sound like a lot, and that?s because it is. They?re also ideals, and in my mind, things you?re lucky to achieve over the course of your life, with the right partner.
To say that my family is important is an understatement. They have always encouraged, supported, and challenged me to be a better person. Anything I?ve accomplished in my life is due in large part to my family, especially my parents. We?re a team that works hard and enjoys life, whether with food, laughter, or sharing stories. I?m very thankful for the family I?ve been blessed with, and I hope to find someone with whom I can build an equally strong family.
