I did Chartered Accountancy because with family responsibilities, that was the logical thing to do while in commerce college. After working in the finance field for four years, I eventually developed enough courage to follow one of my passions i. e. cricket and am currently working in the editorial team of the world's best and largest cricket website, which has obviously involved taking a hit on the monetary front, but the very fact of being able to do what you love is uplifting, and liberating. When one approaches Monday morning with a smile, and not with a frown. When work does not seem like work, but an extension of who you are.
I have been fortunate enough to write extensively on the game and to cover two ICC World T20 tournaments in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. I have also been to New Zealand to cover the Indian team's tour in early 2014 and travelled to Australia and New Zealand again for the 2015 World Cup.
Apart from work, I... more love movies, plays [a relatively recent and increasingly addictive addition], books, nature and travelling. I have also just started to learn classical singing. The attachment to music and singing comes to me from my father. Any form of art makes me stop and marvel at the possibilities of man's mind.
I believe in equality of the sexes, as far as possible. And equality involves rights as well as responsibilities. So expect to share the housework, as well as the bills. (Expressly mentioning this as I have had a couple of bad experiences)
If you think a man's worth is determined primarily by his salary package, please move on to the next profile.
Important disclosure: I do not wish to have kids. It is a decision I have arrived at over the years after a lot of thought. If you want to start a family, and of course, most people do, then I am not the man for you.
I desire a partner who shares similar values. There is nothing more attractive than a person who has the values you admire and respect. Someone who is a bit of a rebel, like me, bit of a non-conformist, who loves to push the boundaries in life, is well-read, is not shallow, has a thinking mind and is proud of it, is honest to herself and to others and is passionate about something enough to pursue it wholeheartedly.
