Hi there! To start off, let me say that I am a friendly, caring, outgoing, and hard-working person and after spending my 20s advancing my education, I'm here to find someone with similar views on life. Also, I'm new to this website and still trying to figure it out...all I've got so far is how to "like" profiles, so bear with me!
I'm an emergency medicine resident, currently working in Michigan but hoping to move back to the East Coast when I finish up in 2016 (unless a better opportunity pops up elsewhere). I was born and raised in the US and with this in mind, I would definitely say that I fall on the "modern" end of the spectrum more than "traditional". Having said this, I definitely value my Indian heritage and the things that come with it, and maintaining that heritage is important to me.
I went to undergrad in Maryland, graduate school in Atlanta and med school in the Bay Area. Needless to say, I am a pretty independent... more person and now that I am finally nearing the end of my professional training, I am looking to meet my personal goals. My friends would probably describe me as compassionate, trustworthy, and honest, and these are all qualities I'd be looking for in a partner as well. Intelligence is a virtue, a sense of humor is a must, and so is a healthy amount of curiosity - I believe that it's easy to get caught up in a routine and I want to have new experiences and someone to talk about them with.
My parents came to this country over 30 years ago and along with my two younger siblings, my childhood was filled with frequent trips back to India to visit relatives during summer vacations (though it's been a while...my last trip to India was during undergrad). My family is very important to me, and as I go through life I often turn to them in matters most important.
In my spare time I enjoy reading a good book, working out, spending time with friends, and watching football or basketball. I'm working on learning medical Spanish and I enjoy traveling and going to shows (both music and theater).
I think that's a good introduction to myself - if you read something that catches your eye, please say hi! And one last thing - even though I might send a message on here, I'm not going to call/text/email you first, I'm a wuss when it comes to that. So ask for my contact info and I'll be happy to reply :)
