Compassionate, well-rounded, well-versed, filled with life and energy, - and a very contagious spirit. I am up for anything and I mean anything (cliche or novel) that involves lots of people and lots of fun. Friends, family and even strangers around me know that I'd go the distance for them any day.
..... A real dream-catcher.
live shows, traveling around the world, low key outdoor stuff, dancing, trying restaurants and bars, Netflix, and truly enjoy reading
I would someday like to say that I have seen the Seven Architectural Wonders of the World (a few done, a few to go).
Though before I do that, I am working on establishing a career that Mother Teresa would be proud of. My dedication to the Chicago Public Schools runs deep.
Hmmm... some random things about me... I'm a Bollywood junkie. I'm obsessed with books, bookstores, and libraries. Generally, I read the book before I watch the show or movie. I love traveling! That one is serious. I like to think that I am the reason a global economy exists. Cultures and traditions fascinate me. I like local places with local talent and local beers and am not afraid to admit I like dive bars. I appreciate reflective conversations and ethical discussions much more than political ones. I cook sometimes, and it's actually edible. I love kids and causing mischief with them (I'm partner in crime to my hyperactive nephews). A lot my students in the past have asked me to adopt them. I say no and feel bad every time. I work in a building with 500 kids, and everyday is splendid. I never get picked last for groups... in fact usually it's first. I almost never make the bed before leaving the house (sometimes it gets made when I get home). I deserve manicures. I teach middle school and over the years it has led me to have no patience for gossip and rumors. Buying shoes on sale makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Golden Apple Fellow (look it up). I like cleaning and organizing on my days off. That one can be serious too. The sexiest thing a man can put on is a suit (If I ran a company, there would be no casual Friday). I feel the most beautiful in Desi clothes. I rarely, if ever, use profanity. People often mislabel the results of my intense work ethic, as simple luck.
I love all things mafia and all things Vegas. I like watching 'Sopranos' marathons on A&E with delivered food. I understand football, but not really. I'm thankful to the yogurt gods for making them in flavors of pies. I am spiritual. I have a very personal relationship with God and am not a fan of involving too many people in it. I don't pray. I never fast. I believe in health and nourishing yourself - mind and body.
Recently, I have started to reconsider if I want to have children of my own, adopt, both, or none.
I admit, I have made quite a few work references, but too many people assume that since I'm a teacher, I live a leisurely life consisting of lots of time off, lollipops, and rainbows. I occasionally use sarcasm.
Cyberspace is one thing, but I get nervous talking/meeting with someone new.
