Putting up your own advertisement is somewhat incongruous but I'll venture out
and give it a shot. I am a 33-year old woman, born and brought up in Calcutta.
My ancestral roots, though, lie in Rajasthan
and I belong to a business family which is into various kinds of exports, based
out of Calcutta.
I am professionally well-settled, or was till recently, when sometime in 2011,
I decided to take a break and go back to education. Figured I had lost touch
with the latest in the academic world and went to do an MSc in Strategic
Marketing at one of the top 3 universities of the UK. I did my MBA from XIM,
Bhubaneswar in 2004, specialising
in Marketing. Post that, I worked for Wipro, IBM in sales and marketing.
Although I loved my work, I also thought that I needed a break from the
stagnancy of it, hence the UK thingy! I am now back in Calcutta for the last six
months and am in the process of establishing a new business I started after
coming back here. I am well-travelled across Europe, Asia, USA and now the UK, for
work and pleasure, and the prospect of travelling is caffeine to me. Although I
must confess I am yet to discover experiences such as a boat ride on the Amazon
or a trek on the Chadar Lake. I also enjoy photography very much and dont miss
an opportunity when I get one.
Personality-wise, I am a peaceful and free-spirited person, fiercely
independent, liberal in my outlook towards daily life, yet have my traditional
idiosyncrasies and beliefs once in a while. I believe in monetary
importance to the extent of leading a comfortable life and I enjoy sampling the
finer things that life has to offer. I find solace in nature, meditation,
yoga and the sensitivity and goodness of people. I believe that there is
exists the possibility of a better world out there and it is up to us to make
it ourselves. I love the mountains, rivers, dusk,
horses, dogs, open spaces, rain, walks by the
sea, movies, an occasional evening glass of wine and my loved ones
around me. I feel stimulated and attracted to wit and intellect and enjoy
conversations with such people. The other passions for me are books (cant
let a day go by without reading) and Indian music and western pop. I cant call myself a party animal although I
like letting my hair down once in a while and hence clubbing is an occasional
incidence. I ventured into salsa a few years ago, discovered bachata
along the way and fell in love with it. I am passionate about sports like
table tennis, cricket, football (a recent convert ! Neuer rocks !!).
I tend to differentiate between arrogant and confident, stubborn and
persistent, workaholic and ambitious. The latter set of adjectives
applies to me and I would like someone with a similar bent of mind. I am
looking for a man with his feet on the ground and a head on his shoulders, someone
who is sure about himself. Would love it if he is house-trained and
believes in sharing responsibilities on the home front. The primary
things I am looking for in a relationship are honesty, trust and respect with a
strong dose of love and romance thrown in for good measure. I believe
that marriage is as much a foundation for individual growth as it is for the
as it may sound; I wish my man can make me laugh. I would like to
encourage him in his endeavours, be there as his best friend, advisor and critic, just as I would love
to get the same from him.
I had an arranged marriage in 2006 which lasted for about 9 months. We
were two individuals who did not really find much togetherness in each other
and mutually decided to part ways. All formalities were completed within
2007. Therefore, I am hesitant to rush into marriage but would rather
prefer to get to know you and see where the relationship goes. I would
also appreciate it if you contacted me with your photograph.
