So I decided to give this a genuine shot because I believe that this is a fantastic forum to get to know people that I would not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise.
I was born and brought up in a gorgeous, laid-back city called Vizag. However, given my 4 - year stint in boarding school, undergrad in Chennai and grad school in the UK, it's safe to say that I'm quite used to being away from home. I spent the last year working with an advertising agency in Chennai. It was both challenging and exciting. More importantly, it gave me a sense of what I want to do next. Which is why right now I am in the midst of
applying for a masters in marketing analytics (preferably in the US). As of now, my plans are flexible in terms of where I am going to study. Luckily there are plenty of options and location doesn't seem to have any relevance for this particular skill set.
My dad's in the shipping business, mum's an interior decorator and social worker. My older sister lives with her husband in Dubai. If we get along, then I can assure you that you will thoroughly enjoy getting to know my family. They are kind, open-minded and always ready to have a good time!
My interests are varied and whatever captures my fascination at the moment becomes the flavour of the month. Travel, music, food and theatre are the few things that seem to have withstood my short attention span.
A few (among many) things that make me happy - good food, live music, quirky coffee shops, unplanned road trips, great conversation, witty banter, binge watching TV shows, a good book, gorgeous weather, theatre, board games, travelling, dogs and humor in absolutely any form.
Some of the things that I want to get around doing someday (I have a never ending bucket list. ) - play the guitar, be fluent in another language, read an autobiography from beginning to end, read a map correctly,
blog, take a gourmet cooking class, learn to salsa.
Let's assume that I have also listed the required bunch of abstract superlatives to describe my personality so that we can move onto to 'you'...
You are open - minded, intelligent, kind, grounded, easy going, mature and patient. You are laid-back ( goofy also works :) ) and can laugh at yourself. You value relationships and care about family. You appreciate the importance of even the little things in life. You are someone who will inspire me to get out
of my comfort zone and are open to being taken out of yours.
I know that is a pretty vague description of what I am looking for. But I have an open mind. I don't think I'll really know until I meet someone! I don't have a check - list and am not looking for perfection. I believe that everyone is nuanced and if I find your quirks endearing (and you, mine) then I think we are heading in the right direction.
If you were intrigued enough to reach the bottom of this page then do get in touch with me. I look forward to our inevitably awkward yet exciting first conversation!
