I was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and lived and studied in Dubai, UAE until I was 15. My family then migrated to Auckland, New Zealand where I finished school and university. Having completed a conjoint Law and Arts degree, I worked for a couple of years at an intellectual property law firm in Auckland, before I moved to Sydney in late 2010, where I continue to work in IP.
My immediate family is small and close-knit. My parents have been, and continue to be, my role-models, and live and work in Auckland. My sister, who undoubtedly has the best sense of humour in the world (I do not exaggerate!), is currently in her second year at the University of Auckland. I have extended family all over the world, including in India, Malaysia, Singapore and the UK.
My career is important to me but I understand the need for a well-balanced life. My free time is spent reading books, at the movies, or at plays and musicals. I love hanging out with old friends, meeting new people, and trying the restaurants and bars whichever city I'm in has to offer. I am not a whiz in the kitchen, but I am a foodie - go figure! I live 20 mins away from two gorgeous beaches which has resulted in many a summer weekend being spent enjoying the sun, sand and surf.
Friends describe me as warm, outgoing, smart, "wickedly" funny and quirky. I am open-minded and always keen to learn and try new things, and am equally comfortable at the opera as I am at the footy. I speak several languages, including French and Spanish, all of which I aim to use when I get the opportunity to travel.
I am looking for a warm, intelligent and independent man with a sense of humour, who stands by his convictions and believes that with the right partner, anything is possible!
