    • Hi there!

      I'm a couple of months away from officially completing my PhD and I currently lecture at a local university which I guess makes me some sort of uber-nerd. Despite my geeky tendencies, I'm a fun, easy-going person to be around. I love to laugh and make others laugh with my incredibly cheesy (and sometimes highly inappropriate) jokes. I can't remember the last time I raised my voice at someone, got very angry or dropped an f-bomb. I like to think I'm a very self-aware person: I like to be open and honest in my communication with others.

      Consequently, I'm looking for someone who embodies complimentary traits to those above. I'd like to meet someone who can hold their own in an intellectual conversation/debate but who also knows when it's time to be silly and relax. Someone who has control over their temper and language and can handle challenging situations in a calm and collected way. Oh and most importantly someone with great table manners; there is nothing worse than a man who chews with his mouth open!

      Potential Deal-Breakers:

      1) Much of my political/social/cultural values are grounded in feminism so if you tend to have more misogynistic/chauvinistic qualities then it's probably best we avoid one another.

      2) Despite having lived and studied abroad I really like Canada and the GTA specifically. We might be perfect for each other but if you live in Burundi and have no intention of relocating here then sorry to say it's not going to happen.

      3) I am deeply religious. I love to read about and discuss Hindu philosophy (Vedanta) and I meditate and pray on a regular basis. Though I'm not a fan of more dogmatic forms of worship or the idea of 'blind' faith, to me, a lack of faith is equally problematic.
