How do I contact other members?
There are two levels of contacting a member – Expressing Interest (for FREE) and Writing personalized messages (for Premium Members). To contact members, you need to be logged in.
How to Express Interest:
This is a FREE feature available to all members
On any profile that you like, click on 'Express Interest' option next to the space for photograph or scroll to the end of the matrimonials profile.
Click the 'Express Interest' button.
An email will be sent to that member telling them of your interest.
How to write personalized messages:
On any profile that you like, write upto 250-character personalized message with every Express Interest, Accept or Decline mail.
Click on the Communicate section. Click on the Compose link on the left menu to write to any member of Shaadi.com provided you both have accepted each other.
Likewise, when other members like your matrimonial profile they can express interest and write to you using similar procedure.
NOTE:
You cannot express interest in more than 50 members in a day.
Shaadi.com may restrict the free expressing interest feature in cases which Shaadi.com deems appropriate in its sole discretion.

Can I express interest in other members for free?
Shaadi.com allows you to express interest in potential partners for FREE. You can do this simply by using the 'Express Interest' button found at the bottom of each profile. This will let the member know that you are interested in them.
However, you will need to be a Premium Member to write personal messages to other members. Your chances of getting a response increase 12 times, if you write personalized messages. So we recommend that you sign up for a premium membership. Compare Shaadi.com membership options
NOTE:
You cannot express interest in more than 50 members in a day.
Shaadi.com may restrict the free expressing interest feature in cases which Shaadi.com deems appropriate in its sole discretion.

What is the meaning of Accepting, Declining or Canceling interest with a member on Shaadi.com Matrimonials?
You may Accept or Decline members depending on whether you like the profile of members who express interest in you. By accepting members you agree to communicate with them, and by declining members you refuse to communicate with them.
In some cases, you may have second thoughts after expressing interest in a member and getting accepted. Here, you can Cancel interest with the member and stop all further communication. Just in case you have third thoughts (!), you can express interest in the member all over again.

How can I Accept/Decline a member on Shaadi.com Matrimonials?
It's really simple and its FREE.
Login to your My Shaadi account.
Under "My Matches" left panel, click "Interests I received".
You will see a list of matrimonial profiles of members who expressed interest in you.
Click on a Profile ID. You will see the matrimonial profile of that member. At the bottom of the profile you will see two options - 'Accept member' and 'Decline member'. Select the required option and click the 'Submit Now' button.

Yes, you can decline a member accepted by you.

What is the My Filters feature?
My Filters helps you to filter members on the basis of Age, Marital Status, Height, Manglik/Kuja Dosham, Religious Background, Country of Residence, Education and Profession. Members who meet your set criteria and express interest in you appear in 'Awaiting Response' list under 'Interests I received'. However, members who do not meet your set criteria and express interest in you appear in 'Interests Expressed by Filtered Members' list.
Filtered members are not sent in your 'Match Mail'.
Note: Setting filters may lower response to your profile. So, we recommend you use this feature ONLY if you are receiving interests by too many members who don't meet your partner requirements. We also recommend that you set reasonably broad partner preferences, so that response to your profile is not too adversely affected.

Can I express interest in members who have filtered me?
Yes, even if you do not meet the filter criteria of the member you still have a chance to express interest in that member. This interest expressed by you will appear in the members 'Interests Expressed by Filtered Members' list on 'Interests I received' page.

How does the "Request Photo" feature work?
As the name suggests, the Request Photo feature allows you to request members to add photos to their profile. To use this feature:
Login to your My Shaadi account
Ensure that your own photo is added to your profile
Click on "Request photo" image present on a member's profile page.
We will convey your request to the member who will automatically be added to your Photo Request Sent list present in the 'Favorites & more' page
We will send you an email notification if the member uploads his/her photo
Similarly, if you receive a photo request, the member's Profile ID will be added to your Photo Request Received list and you will also be infomed of the request through email

How does the "Request Contact Details" feature work?
The "Request Contact Details" feature allows you to request contact details of members who have either not entered contact details or have selected not to display their contact details to premium members.
To use this feature:
Login to your My Shaadi account
Click on "Request Contact Details" link present on a member's profile page.
We will convey your request to the member and your Profile ID will appear in the members Contact Details Request Received list.
The member approves your request by entering his/her contact details and opting to display contact details to premium members.
You will receive an email confirming that the member has made his/her contact details available to premium members. You can then view validated contact details of the member if you are a Premium Member.
Similarly, if the member requests your Contact Details, the members Profile ID will appear in your Contact Details Request Sent list and your Profile ID will appear in the members “Contact Details Request Sent” list.

Can I write messages to any of the members of Shaadi.com Matrimonials?
Yes. As a Premium Member you can write customized messages send:
- A 250-character personalized message with every Express Interest, Accept or Decline mail.
- Messages through our Private Messaging System to any member of Shaadi.com provided you both have accepted each other.

To write customized messages to other members of Shaadi.com you need to be a Premium Member of Shaadi.com. Premium Membership consists of paid services that offer you premium matrimony services and features. However, you can express interest in any other member of Shaadi.com free of charge.

Can I write messages and receive messages from members who have a free membership?
You can write a customized message to any member of Shaadi.com irrespective of the kind of matrimonials membership package they are subscribed to, provided you have accepted each other. However, you must be a Premium Member to write customized messages.
Members who have a free subscription to Shaadi.com can only express interest or reply to messages that they receive from other Premium Members.

How can I write messages to other members?
To write messages to other members, all you need to do is follow the following steps:
Login to your My Shaadi Account.
Click on the Compose option under "My Mailbox" to the left of your screen.
In the new page, type the Profile ID of the recipient. You can also choose the recipient by clicking the 'Use Accepted List' link.
Type your message in the message area provided. You can also select a message that you already drafted before by clicking on the 'Use Drafts' link and selecting any one of the messages appearing there.
Click the 'Send My Message Now' button. All messages you send are stored in your Sent folder.

Can I start writing customized messages to other members directly?
No. Before being able to exchange customized messages with another member you must 'Accept' each other first. When both of you accept each other then you can start exchanging messages.

What is the Inbox folder in the Messaging System?
The Inbox folder stores the messages received by you from other members of Shaadi.com. To open the Inbox folder and read your messages
Login to your Communicate Account.
To the left of your screen, click on the Inbox option under “My Mailbox”.

When you receive a message, you are alerted by an email sent to your email address registered with Shaadi.com.

How will I know whether the message sent by me has been read or not?
All messages sent by you are automatically stored in the 'Sent' folder. To the left of your screen, click on the Sent Messages option to see a list of the messages sent by you. Those messages which have not been read by others are highlighted in yellow colour. Those that have been read do not have any colour highlight.

For how long will my messages be stored on Shaadi.com Matrimonials?
All messages are stored for a period of 45 days, after which they are automatically deleted. However, Premium Members get increased storage and their messages are only deleted after 60 days.

How can I save my messages received on Shaadi.com Matrimonials for more than the time period provided by Shaadi.com?
To save your messages, select the required messages in the Inbox/Sent folder, choose the 'Forward Checked Messages to my email address' option available below and click the 'Go' button. The messages you selected will be automatically forwarded to your email address registered with Shaadi.com.

Can I save my messages and edit or send them later?
Yes, you can. Do as follows:
Go to the Communicate page.
Click the Drafts option under My Mailbox in your left menu.
Use the Create New Draft section to compose and save your message. You can save 3 such drafts, which can be used later when writing messages.

Although the Customer Relations team of Shaadi.com strives to facilitate matrimony between its members, its policy does not allow it to directly contact a member on behalf of another member.

If I become a premium member of Shaadi.com Matrimonials, can I obtain the contact details of other members? How can I communicate with other members?
As a Premium Matrimonials Member you can use premium services and features that are not available to free members. You will also be given telephone number of other members. You can view validated contact details of upto 50 members per day. You may get other contact details from members themselves by contacting them using the Messaging Service of Shaadi.com.

What is a Contact SEAL? How do I get a Contact SEAL?
Contact SEAL is a feature that builds up the genuinity of your profile and helps you get better matches. Getting a Contact SEAL is a simple two step process:
1) Add your contact details by visiting the My Contact Details
2) Validating the contact number you have provided
On successful validation of your contact number your profile will be endorsed with a Contact SEAL. Members can now view your Contact SEAL and get in touch with you directly, if you have opted to display your contact details to premium members.
